Adreanna Hansen

Adreanna Hansen returned to her Heavenly Home, July 31st 2019, just two days before her 16th birthday. She was born August 2, 2003 to her devoted parents, Clark and KaeLynn Hansen and older brothers, Branden and Preston. As her family, we were all overjoyed to welcome this beautiful little girl into our lives.
We soon learned that Adre was born with Plexiform Tumors. The main tumor was on the right side of her neck and grew into her spine at the base of her brain. This tumor would eventually become malignant, which is uncommon for these tumors.  The condition is called Neurofibromatosis Type 1.
After her first surgeries, as a newborn, she was finally able to come home to her family, around Thanksgiving, 3 months after she was born. She had had a tracheostomy, was on a ventilator, was fed with a g-tube, and had to wear a brace from her neck to her waist. Adre wore the brace until her neck was fused.
We were told later that the doctors didn’t expect her to live, let alone be without her brace, walk, talk, go to school, or interact with others. All who met her fell in love with her infectious smile, positive attitude, sense of humor, and strong will.
Adreanna loved life and valiantly fought to live and accomplish all that she could in her short time on earth. They have been challenging years with over 12 surgeries and countless stays in the hospitaldue to illness, but they have also been very rewarding years because we have been able to know Adre.
Adreanna loved to play on her iPad and watch her favorite shows on TV. She loved and was always comforted by her stuffed cat and dog. She liked to tell jokes and enjoyed teasing people. Her favorite season was Fall and she really loved Halloween and everything to do with science. Adre completed the 10th grade and also received her Young Women’s Recognition Award.
Through it all she was uncomplaining and happy, which is truly an example to everyone.
We would like to thank Primary Children’s Hospital, Shriner’s Hospital and the countless doctors and nurses who were so devoted in giving her the best care. We would also like to thank the Home Health Companies and all her nurses who stayed with her at night and those who took her to school. We would like to thank Adre’s teachers and all those friends who associated with her. Her life was truly enriched by all who surrounded her.
We are thankful for the years we were able to share with Adre and look forward to the eternities where we will all be together as a family.
Adreanna is survived by her parents and brothers, her grandparents, Gary and Val Hansen and Gil and Janice Baker, her aunts, uncles and many, many cousins.
