Watch Out!

Watch out everyone!  Kent is driving again.  :)

Ward Ball

Aaron had a basketball game last night.  I missed the first half of the game because I had to drop Kent off at Kenna's.  It was fun game to watch.  For an old man, Aaron is pretty amazing.  (I like to tease him.  This year he's turning the big 4-0!).  Seriously, Aaron is really talented.  -He's got some skills.
Our ward won.  I don't remember the final score.

Thursday Feb, 26, 2015

Big day today!  LouJean met with her colorectal surgeon (Dr. Griffin) at St. Mark's Hospital.  Deanna, Kenna, Ruthann, and Kent went with her.  Everyone felt good about the surgeon.  LouJean is scheduled to have surgery next Thursday.  Dr. Griffin stated that he would be aggressive and try to remove all the cancer.
I watched Kazy so Ruthann could go to the appointment.  It was a rainy day, so parks were out of the question.  We decided to go to Puppy Barn.

 Puppies are so cute!

Word about LouJean has spread throughout the ward.  Today the Mansfield’s brought cream of broccoli soup, rolls, and donut holes.  Sister Ballentyne and Sister Giles brought chicken noodle soup, salad, bread, and chocolate cake.  The Strouds brought us cinnamon rolls.  –So many kind people in the ward!

Abby got her expander tonight.  I don't think I've ever seen Abby so nervous.
Here it is!  -It wasn't that bad.  :)

First Tournament Game

Andrew had his first tournament game tonight.  They played the Basket Weavers and lost 38 to 43.  :( His next game is Wednesday March 4th.

The Provo Temple

I work in the health and justice building in Provo.  The building is across the street from the new Provo temple.  It's amazing how quickly everything has come together.  I took these pictures on the second floor during my break.  Isn't the temple beautiful?

Cancer

My mother-in-law was diagnosed with colon cancer.  LouJean has an appointment with a surgeon on Wednesday.  Here is a post from my father-in-law's journal.

23 Feb Mon:  Report on LouJean---it is cancer---the entire family was here this morning (including Kay and Kurt) via in person or on their phones. Everyone participated in the discussion---the best way I can explain it, is by what my two brothers’ said, “Your family is the best, the very best”. My final decision was, not to tell LouJean, all agreed. Before the day was over, the Dr. Appointment was changed from Friday to Wed morning (10:45 am).
I left with Kay/Kurt to play Sluff---enjoyed---Kurt  did me a hotdog on the way home.
The Jacobson’s came for FHE---brought the ice cream---Abby did the lesson; as always, she is the best lesson giver. Alyssa sang, “I Am A Child Of God”; excellent.
Talked to Suzy----she is to see her Dr. tomorrow morning; our prayers are with her.

One of Brody's Favorite Things

We took all the kiddos (Minus Abby and Bree) for a nice ride today.  We drove to Saratoga Springs, Bluffdale, Herriman, Daybreak, and then back home.  Brody was a happy boy.  He'd been asking all weekend to go to Salt Lake.  :)  Here are a few pictures Aaron snapped with my phone.

Chalazion: A cyst in the eyelid that is caused by inflammation of a blocked meibomian gland, usually on the upper eyelid.

My poor little Brody has had this Chalazion on his right eyelid for about 3 weeks.  I hope that it goes away.  Brody has had several styes in the past, but never this big.  :(

LouJean

It's been a little crazy at our house the last 2 days.  Yesterday, LouJean was on a clear liquid diet.
Beginning at 5pm, she had to drink 1 cup of this fluid every 10 min.  It was a long night!
Today LouJean had her colonoscopy.  They found a large mass shortly after they started (see picture above on the left).  They took a sample and sent it off to the lab.  Then she had some Cat scans done.  We'll hopefully get the results Monday.

Our Search For Snow

Aaron, Brody, Alyssa, Bryson and I went a nice drive earlier today.  We went south and made it all the way to Scofield Reservoir.  Aaron was looking for a spot to take his scouts camping next weekend.  The scouts made a sled and they need snow/ice to so that they can race.  The weather has been so nice!  Snow is scarce right now.  :)

Feb. 13th and 14th

13 Feb Fri:  LouJean is not feeling well.  She slept in till 11 this am.  -Couldn’t follow simple commands.  -Refused to eat.  Ruthann and Teresa took her to see Dr. Smith.  She has another UTI.  The doctor saw blood in her stool.  He is scheduling a colonoscopy.  We’re trying to obtain stool samples.
Kent is home!  He arrived around 12:30.  It’s going to be a little crazy for a while, but I think it will only be up from here.  His physical therapist (Gabe) came.  He taught him how to maneuver and observed the house.  Sounds like Kent and LouJean will be switching sides in their bed.
The nurse (Leandra) is here.  She is assessing Kent and LouJean.  I think she and the rest of the nursing staff will be a big help.    They are going to bathe LouJean 3 x’s a week!
It’s late and I have to work tomorrow.  Aaron is going to sleep on the couch and listen for his parents.  Thank you!

My new picture!

Kent's valentine from LouJean

14 Feb Sat:  Kent didn’t sleep very well last night.  I think he woke up several times and helped LouJean with her oxygen.  -He will go to Kenna’s tonight.
-Busy morning at our house.  I went to work, Andrew had a basketball game at 8:00, Bree had tumbling at 8:00, and Abby had a basketball game at 9:00.  Aaron saved the day.  Everything worked out great.
Andrew went to Roots Tech today in SLC with the youth in our ward.  From what I understand, it was sort of like a big devotional???  David Archuletta, the cast from Studio C, Noelle Pikus Pace, etc. all attended!  Andrew loved it.  He said he had a really good time.
Aaron and I went to Costco this afternoon. Aaron bought me the painting “Perfect Love” by Del Parson.  The painting is so beautiful.  It’s my favorite.  I’m so excited to hang it up.
Aaron and I went to dinner at Culvers tonight for Valentines.  We saw Jason from Studio C!  I almost asked him if I could take a picture with him, but I decided I'd better not.  It's Valentines and I believe he was with his wife and daughter.
I LOVE YOU Aaron Bell Walker!!! XOXO
