Face Paint Or Chapstick

Many Changes For 2024

All the members of our bishopric, (Alan Oakes, Jarrad Richins, and BJ Harris) were released today in sacrament meeting. How  thankful I am for these great men! They served the Hillcrest 1st Ward faithfully for 5 years!  Our new bishopric is as follows:  Bishop is Peter Clarke.  1st counselor is Aaron Walker.  Second counselor is Bryan Martinez.

Aaron and I got a text from our Stake President on Saturday December 23rd, following our ward Christmas party.  Brother Hreinson asked if we could meet with him Sunday afternoon.  Aaron and I were so nervous.  We knew our bishopric was about to be released and we assumed Aaron was being called as a counselor or bishop.

Sacrament meeting was special.  A lot of family came to support Aaron, (Karie, LouAnn, Mark, my parents, etc).  Following the sacrament, our ward sustained Aaron as a high priest.  The bishopric was released and thanked.  Our new bishopric was sustained.  They all took seats up on the stand.  We then got to hear testimonies from Karen Oakes, Alan Oakes, Mandy Clarke, Peter Clarke, and Dustin Hreinson.

After church, Peter was set apart as bishop by Dustin Hreinson.  Aaron was ordained a high priest by his dad, (Kent Walker) then set apart as 1st counselor by Peter Clarke.  Bryson Martinez was then set apart by Dustin Hreinson as 2nd counselor.

I can't forget our son Bryson!  Today was his last day in primary 😢

Aaron Noland Peterson

I got take care of Aaron several years ago.  He was so much fun to be around.  Praying for comfort for his family.  Especially his mom.   ðŸ’™

Aaron was born on June 13, 2010, the youngest son of William and Rebekah Peterson.  He is survived by his parents, sisters Deborah (Bronson) Andersen and Mary, brothers David, Jonathan (Avanlee), Matthew (Kensey), Joseph (Sarah), Andrew and Michael, a niece (Linnaea) and nephew (Elend), as well his grandparents, Kathleen Peterson and Gary and Mary Brown.  He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Grant Peterson.

Having done all he was called to do in this life, he departed this world on December 23, 2023.  He chose to come as our very own angel, to have, hold and learn from.  He had many challenges due to an extra 18th chromosome – a chromosome we call the “love” chromosome – because of the overwhelming sense of love that he radiated.  While his physical body struggled, his spirit shown through.  He could light up a room with a smile, and all who knew him were enriched by his life.

Aaron loved music.  He loved listening to it and dancing to it.  He could find the beat of a song and move to it. He even started singing his own songs, going up and down the scale while making noises.  He loved being read to and looking at books.  But his favorite activity was snuggling up on Daddy’s shoulder and having his back rubbed.

Aaron loved people – all people.  He attended school at Dan Peterson Elementary and was in 8th grade where he formed bonds with his teachers, classmates, and nurses. He was loved not only at home and at school, but also at Primary Children’s Hospital where he received excellent care.  He seemed to think Primary’s was a home away from home, often laughing and smiling as we would arrive.  He made friends everywhere he went with his contagious smile.

As a family we express our love and appreciation for the many medical and emergency personnel (especially the Lone Peak Fire Department and Primary Children’s Hospital), nurses, teachers, and friends who loved, served, and blessed Aaron’s life.  We will never forget you.

We welcome friends to join with us in celebration of Aaron’s life on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 11:00 am at the High Bench Chapel, located at 910 South High Bench Road, Alpine, Utah. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at the High Bench Chapel and also at an additional viewing on Saturday morning from 9:30-10:30 am prior to services at the church.
