Kaycee and Troy

Just wanted to congratulate Kaycee and Troy on their wedding.  Aaron and I were Kaycee's primary teachers about 10 years ago, (Sheesh, time goes by so fast).

Brody's Class

I got Brody's class picture yesterday.  I have to laugh at Brody's face.  That's just what he looks like when you tell him to say "Cheese."  We had his picture retaken, but for some reason they didn't switch it.  I love these kids!

Cleo Rose

My nephew Rob and his wife Ali welcomed a daughter, (Cleo Rose) into the world on Jan 28th in Australia (Monday the 27th in the US) -he he.  Congratulations you two.  She looks perfect! We can't wait to meet her.

Brody's Blue and Gold

Brody had his Blue and Gold Banquet earlier this evening.  His leaders prepared a nice dinner (Pasta, rolls, and salad).  All of the boys brought a favorite dessert to share. They played some games and passed out some awards.  Alyssa and I left a little early.  Alyssa still isn't feeling very well.  :(  Here are a couple pictures I took.

Emily

My niece Emily went into the MTC today.  Her farewell was on Sunday.  Both she and her mother Deanna spoke during sacrament meeting.  They both did a great job.
The people in Raleigh, North Carolina are in for a real treat.  Emily is going to be an awesome missionary.  Love you Em.  Thanks for being such a good example to my kids.  :)

Stupid Bug

My poor little Alyssa has been so sick! She came down with a fever Friday evening.  She fevered all night and all day Saturday.  She had no appetite.  -Didn't eat one thing for a whole day and a half.  The only thing I could get down her was a few sips of water.  This morning when she woke up she was starving!  She asked me if Costco was open.  "Please Mom, all I want is a root beer and a hot dog from Costco."  I felt so sorry for her that I decided to break the Sabbath.
She was only able to eat a few bites, but that's okay.  I hope this stupid bug leaves quickly and no one else catches it.

That's My Boy!

Andrew had another basketball game Friday night. Aaron and I got to go watch him.  The whole team played very well.  Final score 35 - 28.  Way to go Thunder!

Roar!

Alyssa's preschool class had a field trip Thursday at Thanksgiving Point.   My mom and my sister joined us on the trip.  It was so much fun!  I really don't spend enough time with them. We always have so much fun when we're together.  Alyssa had a great time with her cousins too (Sasha and Cole).  Here are some pictures from our trip.

Free Birds

Kara and Alyssa
I took my girlies to a movie yesterday.  We saw the movie "Free Birds."  We enjoyed the movie.  All of the girls had a friend.  It was a nice little getaway for the holiday (Martin Luther King Day).

6 For 6

"Mom, I've lost 6 teeth and I'm 6 years old!"

Breezy lost another tooth today.  She claims this is tooth #6.  I can't remember for sure, but she's probably correct.  :)  Looks like the Tooth Fairy will make her way here tonight.

Sunday In Salt Lake

Last Sunday, my brother in law (Doug) took us for a ride into Salt Lake.  We saw some beautiful old homes, toured the State Capitol, and even drove through the cemetary and found President Hinckley's grave.  I'm loving our new church schedule (9-12).

Fingers Crossed

I read this article in the Daily Herald yesterday.
Hundreds sign up for Pleasant Grove autism school
It kind of got me excited.  I've been thinking about Brody a lot lately.  -Wondering what I can do to help him.  When I read this article about the new school, I went to the website immediately and tried to sign him up.  Unfortunately, they've already had 400 + sign up.  I put his name in the lottery, now I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that he'll be chosen.

Natalie Strong

My friend Natalie passed away last Saturday.  I worked with her at Fred Meyer during highschool.  She had such a sweet spirit!  I went to her viewing last night.  It was nice to meet her siblings.  Here is her obituary.

Natalie Strong
April 11, 1968 January 4, 2014
Natalie Strong passed away unexpectedly January 4, 2014, in Provo after suffering a massive stroke. She was born on April 11, 1968, the last of 11 children born to Ronald Davis and Lorraine Whitby Strong. She lived her entire life in Alpine, UT, attending Alpine Elementary, American Fork Jr. High, and graduating from American Fork High School.
Natalie spent 13 years working at the cafeteria in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple, where she made many friends and brightened the lives of all she served. Her smile will be sorely missed. She also cared for her aging parents with love, kindness, and humor, making it possible for them to spend their final years comfortably at home.
An avid record keeper, Natalie dearly loved her family and knew the names and birthdays of each one. She treasured her nieces and nephews and considered them "her" kids.
Natalie is survived by her siblings: Merlynne (Willard) Heaps, Alpine; Wayne (Colleen) Strong, Mesa AZ; Brenda (Kent) Davis, Orem; Yvonne (Richard) Holdaway, Payson; Gordon (Deborah) Strong, Taylorsville; Kendell (Jane) Strong, Elko, NV; Dean (Lorinda) Strong, Ojai, CA; Glen Strong, Munster, IN; Deanna (Devin) Johnson, West Point; 57 nieces and nephews, and an ever-increasing number of great- and great-great nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents and sister, Janene.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 11, at 11:00am in the Alpine Stake Center, 98 E. Canyon Crest Rd, Alpine. Friends may call Friday from 6-8pm at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 E. 100 N., American Fork, and Saturday from 9:45-10:45am at the church. Burial in the Alpine City Cemetery.

More BYU Basketball

Last night we went to anther basketball game.  BYU played Pepperdine.  It was a good game.  It was close the whole game, but in the end BYU came out on top 84-72.  Here are some pics from the evening.
