A Little Bubbly

Demo Day

Aaron has been busy the past two days demoing Kent and LouJean's master bathroom.  They had a leak in the shower and some mold.  Pretty gross!  Proud of my man.  He's such a hard worker.  I know it's going to be amazing.

Black Friday

Black Friday or shall I say Gray Thursday (Thanksgiving) was insane this year!  Aaron and I went to Walmart in American Fork for the 6:00 pm sale.  We thought we'd get a few things and quickly make our way out. Nope -Didn't happen.  We sat in line to check out for probably a good hour and a half.  There were so many people.  Here is the front page of the ad.
We missed our partners in crime (Deanna and Trent).  They celebrated Thanksgiving in Brigham City, so we had to brave the crowds alone.  It looked similar to the picture below... Very very frightful.  :)

Over The Weekend

We had a fun little getaway over the weekend.  Saturday after work we headed up to Rexburg, Idaho!  My nephew Mckay had a wedding reception.  A lot of family came.  It was very nice.  Unfortunately, I forgot my camera.  I found the pictures below off the internet.
Our hotel.   Springhill Suites Marriott in Rexburg, Idaho.

The lounge!  So pretty

The pool.  -Our favorite place of all.

We ate lunch at Chuck-A-Rama in Idaho Falls.  My kids were in Heaven.

Good Health

I've read a lot of posts on Facebook this month where friends and family have shared something that they're thankful for.  I think it's a good idea.  Maybe next year I'll do the same. I'd like to write a post today if I may.   -Today more then ever, I'm thankful for good health.  This has been a trying week for our family.  Alyssa became sick Tuesday night.  Bryson became sick Wednesday night.  And last night Brody was sick.  We've had good health for so long.  -Then something like this happens.  Reminds us how blessed we've been and for that we are truly thankful.
We're going to head North to Rexburg, Idaho later this morning.  I'm a little nervous about the trip.  Hopefully Brody is over his sickness, and hopefully no one else in our family gets sick.  Keeping my fingers crossed.
I hope anyone that reads this has a great weekend!

Todd's Funeral

Earlier this week, my friend Toby lost his father, Todd.  Todd was having a liver transplant, but didn't survive the operation.  My heart has been so heavy.   Our family had high hopes that Todd would survive.  A couple months ago when my nephew Jeff passed, we tried to work it out so that Todd would receive Jeff's liver.  It didn't happen, but we prayed that our efforts would at least bump up his name on the waiting list.

Todd was such an amazing man.  The biggest thing that stood out to me was the fact that yes he was a famous football player, sportscaster, etc.  But more importantly, he was a witness of Christ.  He was always trying to improve himself and lift others up.  He recognized all of the blessings in his life, and gave thanks to God.  What an amazing missionary he was.  I think everyone who attended his funeral left with a feeling of wanting to be better!   Here is his obituary

Todd Jay Christensen

August 3, 1956  ~  November 13, 2013

Todd Jay Christensen
1956 ~ 2013

Our loving husband, father, and grandfather Todd Jay Christensen passed away November 13, 2013 as a result of complications during surgery. His surviving family and friends are saddened by his sudden passing, yet recognize gratefully the wonderful legacy he leaves behind in the form of his posterity and in the example of his life.

Todd was born August 3, 1956 in Pennsylvania, the second son of Ned and June Christensen. Early in his childhood the family moved to Eugene, Oregon, where Todd's father Ned was a University of Oregon professor. From an early age Todd had a strong interest in athletics, excelling in track and field, baseball, basketball, and football. Football was destined to become his meal ticket. He played fullback at Brigham Young University and was later drafted into the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys. After a few years of struggling in the league, he found his niche with the Oakland Raiders, where he became an all-pro pass-catching tight end, leading the league in receiving twice and winning two super bowl championships. Even before his playing career was done, his unique verbal skill was recognized, and he transitioned easily from the playing field to the broadcast booth, working as a broadcaster for NBC, ESPN, the MTN Network, and most recently, CBS Sports. He also had a short but memorable stint as a moderator for the television program, 'American Gladiators.'

Todd recognized how fortunate he was that so many of his childhood dreams had come true, but professional success, however rewarding, did not distract him from what he considered his true priorities: his family and his faith. He married Kathleen Simmons Christensen, the love of his life, in the Salt Lake Temple, November 28, 1977. They had four sons; Toby, Tory, Trevor, and Teren. Todd was guided and sustained by his faith and endeavored to rear his family according to those principles.

In every arena of his life, Todd sought earnestly for self-improvement because of his love and understanding of the Plan of Salvation and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As much gratification as he received from training his body to peak efficiency, he took greater pleasure in pursuits of the mind, rarely leaving the house without his journal, scriptures and books he was reading.

Todd was not a man without failings, but he possessed the redeeming quality of persistence, the desire to be better today than he was yesterday. Perhaps his best quality, however, was his generosity and focus on helping other people. His influence was felt in his family, church and in his community, and he will be sorely missed.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 1:00 pm in the Alpine North LDS Stake Center Chapel, 1125 East Alpine Boulevard, Alpine, Utah. Family and friends may call Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Alpine North Stake Center Chapel, and Saturday from 11:30-12:30 pm prior to services at the church. Interment, Alpine City Cemetery.

Condolences may be sent to the family at www.warenski.com

Primary Program

Today was such a special day.  Our Primary children put on a program in Sacrament meeting.  Brody, Abby, Bree, and Alyssa all sang and spoke beautifully.  -I'm so proud to be their mama!  Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Nelson for joining us at church.
