Feeling Blessed

Yesterday, I had a flat tire on the way home from work.  I was on the freeway,  almost to 800 North when it happend.  It was really scary.  The rear tire on the driver's side was the one that had the flat.  I knew immediately when it happend.  It was noisy and the car was difficult to steer.  Luckily, there weren't many cars around.  I was able to get over to the right side fairly quickly.  I called Aaron, and he called AAA for me.  I waited for about 10 to 15 minutes.  Aaron called me back and told me that AAA was going to be a while.  Just as a finished my call with him a nice gentleman pulled up in front of me.  He asked me if I needed help.  I told him that we had called AAA, but that it was going to be a while.  He was so sweet.  He just went right to work.  He took off the old tire and put on the spare.  It took him maybe 10 minutes?  He was so fast!  I offered him some money, but he wouldn't take it.  He was a Heaven sent.  :)  I feel so blessed.

First Day Of Kindergarten 8/26/14

My baby went to her first day of Kindergarten yesterday.  I've never seen anyone as excited to go to school as she was.  What a cutie.
I had to work in the morning, so my oldest daughter Abby did her hair.  :)

Alyssa has several friends in her class from church.
Love her so much!

The Anderson's Farewell Party

Aaron's sister Teresa and her family are moving to California.  My niece had a going away party for them yesterday evening.  We're going to miss them.  We wish them the best with their move.

Not That Bad

I took Abby to the dentist yesterday.  It wasn't as bad as we thought it would be.  Abby ended up having an apexogenesis rather then a root canal.  She may still have to have one in the future, but for now she's good.  What is an apexogenesis?  I'm not really sure.  I just know that when Dr. Jimmer drilled down to her roots, he told me the bleeding stopped, which meant that the nerves were still good.  Abby's roots aren't completely developed, so he put a filling in her tooth.  Abby has a check up in 2 weeks and again in 6 months.  I hope it keeps.
Abby also had a cavity filled.  Poor girl was numb for several hours.
Abby asked me to take a picture so she could see what it looked like.  Quite the procedure isn't it?
Not as expensive as we had planned.  What a blessing.

A Wicked Celebration

It was my mom's birthday on Saturday.  My sweet sister Ashley got her tickets to "Wicked."  Ashley asked me if I'd like to tag along.  "Um let me think about it...YES, PLEASE!"  -I was so excited to go.
I loved it, loved it.  It was such a great show.  I especially loved the company.  I hope you had a happy birthday mom.  Thanks again Ash.

A Few Bumps In The Road

On the first day of school, it took about an hour to pick up Brody.

Well, we made it through the first week of school!  Not gonna lie.  This has been a very stressful week for me.  I think any time your kids begin a new school year it's difficult.  All my kids are use to staying up late.  We didn't do much reading over the summer.  My kids didn't have homework.  -You get the idea.
Of all my children, Brody has had to make the most changes.  I was so nervous for him to attend a new school.  When I went to Spectum's open house, I was ready to transfer him back to Forbes.  Everything was so unorganized.  Good thing my husband is level headed.  He convinced me to give Spectrum a couple weeks.  If things didn't get better, he told me he would support me in whatever I decide.
Brody loves Spectrum.  Every day I ask Brody what he did at school.  His reply is always "We had fun!"  I'm so thankful.
Alyssa begins all day kindergarden next week!  I spoke with the principal at Shelley.  He told me Alyssa's teachers are Mrs. Crocket and Mrs. Reed.  Her open house is Monday.  I'm so nervous for my little girl.  I can't believe she's old enough to be going to elementary school.

What a Pain!

On Monday, Abby told me that her tooth was aching.  Abby saw the dentist 4 months ago.  We were suppose to have Abby back to the dentist at the beginning of the summer, but we pushed it aside because we wanted to get a second opinion.  Well, we sort of forgot about it.  (Parent points for us, right?)  Any hew, I made an appointment Monday.  We had some x-rays done and received some upsetting news.  They told us Abby's cavity had gone down to the nerve.  We have two options.  Option # 1 root canal.  (Remember this is a permanent tooth).  Option #2 Pull the tooth and hope that the 12 year molar next to it will move into its place and then, when and if she has a wisdom tooth that it will grow in the 12 year molars place. Our dentist gave us a prescription for an antibiotic and something for pain, then referred us to a pediatric dentist.  Abby saw him Wednesday.  They did some more x-rays and again went over our options.  We decided to go ahead with the root canal.  They're going to take care of Abby Monday afternoon.  :(  Poor girl.  I hope everything goes well.

New Year, New Teachers, and For Some New School!

Last Friday I took Andrew to the Jr. High to meet all of his new teachers.  Andrew begins 8th grade tomorrow!  Oh mercy.  :)
A little while ago I took the girls over to Shelley.  Bree met her new 2nd grade teacher, Gentry Walton.

Abby met her 3rd grade teacher, Natalie Barton.
Then we zoomed home, dropped off the girls and picked up Brody.  Spectrum Academy had their ribbon cutting ceremony at 5:00 pm.  We made it just in time!

Brody's new 5th grade teacher is Aaron Loveridge.
I am one nervous Mama.  I'm not quite ready to let go of summer and send my kids back to school.  I'm especially nervous about sending Brody to a new school.

Car Troubles

I had some car troubles this morning.  Just as I got off the freeway exit, I could smell smoke.  I convinced myself that it was probably the car in front of me; however, as I got closer to work I saw smoke in my side mirror.  I got to work and tried to find an explanation on the computer.  I thought for sure I'd blown the head gasket.  I called Aaron, and he agreed to meet me after work.
Aaron arrived, and the first thing he did was pop my hood.  He knew immediately what was wrong.  The hose that carries the coolant to the engine had a big rip in it.  We drove a couple blocks to buy a new hose, pliers, and some coolant (About $30).  Then we returned and he changed it.
My man amazes me!  He's so smart and so proficient.  I'm thankful for all that he does for me and our children.  I love you Aaron!!!
