Is This Normal?

My girls have been playing a lot of "House" lately. Each of them take turns being the mom or the children in the family. Every time they play, the mother is expecting. Is this normal?

Brody's IEP

I went to Brody's IEP meeting last Thursday. I left the meeting very happy! I'm really proud of the progress my son has made. I know I say that every time I come back from parent teacher conference or another meeting, but I really am. Some people to thank for his progress are his special ed. teacher, (Tarra Anderson), his para educators, (Mrs. April, Mrs. Ricky, Mrs. Wendi, and Mrs. W), his classmates, (Charlie, Callum, Jayden, Ryker, Eli, Ryan, Kristian, and Brandon), his speech language pathologist, (Jeanne Sorensen), His adapted P.E. specialist ,(Charles Schultz), his occupational therapist (Heidi Storstad), his school psychologist (Chris Melville), and his principal (Sam Rencher). Thank you everyone. I appreciate everything that you do for my son. You make such a difference in his life. Thank you, thank you. :)

30 Weeks

Well, I'm officially 30 weeks along! I can't believe how fast the time has gone. Only 7 weeks to go before my C-section. Crazy, crazy. I receive weekly emails about my baby's growth, and what to expect. Here's what it states in this weeks email.
"Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and he weighs almost 3 pounds (Like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds him, but that volume will decrease as he gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. His eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after he's born, he'll keep his eyes closed for a good part of the day. When he does open them, he'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision - which means he can only make out objects a few inches from his face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20)."
How your life's changing:
You may be feeling a little tired these days, especially if you're having trouble sleeping. You might also feel clumsier than normal, which is perfectly understandable. Not only are you heavier, but the concentration of weight in your pregnant belly causes a shift in your center of gravity. Plus, thanks to hormonal changes, your ligaments are more lax, so your joints are looser, which may also contribute to your balance being a bit off. Also this relaxation of your ligaments can actually cause your feet to spread permanently, so you may have to invest in some new shoes in a bigger size. Remember those mood swings you had earlier in pregnancy? The combination of uncomfortable symptoms and hormonal changes can result in a return of those emotional ups and downs. It's normal to worry about what your labor will be like or whether you'll be a good parent. But if you can't shake the blues or feel increasingly irritable or agitated, talk to your doctor or midwife. You may be among the 1 in 10 expectant women who battle depression during pregnancy. Also let your caregiver know if you're frequently nervous or anxious.

President's Day Weekend

We had a great President's Day weekend. Busy, but great.

On Friday Aaron went on a klondike camping trip with his scouts. Aaron is such a trooper. He hasn't been feeling well for a couple of weeks. He felt horrible on Friday, but he still went and endured Payson canyon's freezing temperatures.

Andrew had several basket ball games over the weekend. One on Friday at the XSI Factory, one on Saturday at West Jordan Highschool, and three on Monday (Two at Bingham Highschool and one at West Jordan Highschool). His team won one of the five.
Aaron booked us a mini vacation at the Holiday Inn in American Fork for Saturday and Sunday night.

We went for a ride over to Heber and made a stop at Granny's. MMM...love their shakes and fries. We also drove past HGTV's dream home again.

We hope all of you had a nice break!

Kent Saved The Day!

Aaron had a ward basketball game last night. Only 4 players from his team showed up to the game. I guess the rule is that each team has to have 5 players by half time, or they must forfeit the game. Aaron called Kent (His 78 year old young father), and told him he needed to suit up and get over to the stake center. I've never seen my father in law hustle like he did! Kent made it over to the stake center and played the second half of the game. The men in our ward put up a good fight, but in the end they lost. Thanks for helping out grandpa!

Brody's First Time Bowling

Brody went bowling for the first time on Wednesday with the scouts. I was nervous taking him. I wasn't sure how he was going to act. Some times when Brody is around a lot of people or noise, he has a really difficult time. We had a little struggle at first. We went to Jack and Jills in Lehi. If you've ever been there before, you'd know that on one side of the building is mainly for the arcade (Similar to Chuck E Cheese), and the other side is for bowling. Any how, we arrived about 10 minutes before the other scouts, so I let Brody hang out in the arcade. Brody loves arcades, so when it was time to go bowl it was a difficult transition. When we finally got him to try it, he did great!

Sister Sparks (Upper left) will be working with Brody one on one. I have such a good ward!
Brody's leaders (Sister Clem and Sister Hendrickson) and some of the other scouts.
Brody won the game! He was the only one to get a strike! Good job Buddy.

Andrew's Valentines Box

Andrew had to make a Valentines box for school. He decided to use one of my styrofoam boxes that my medicine is delivered in. We hot glued some potato head eyes, a nose, ears, hands, a hat, and a tongue onto the box. We also got some yellow yarn for hair. I think it turned out really cute!

Potty Training - Alyssa Style

My sweet little Alyssa has potty trained herself! I honestly don't know how this happend. A couple of days ago I bought her a little Valentines skirt. When I put it on her, she asked, "Don't wet in this?" I answered her back, "Yes, we don't wet in this." That was all that was said. I didn't coax her in any way. She went 4 times on Saturday, all day yesterday, and has already gone several times today. Number 2 included! She hasn't had one accident! I can't believe it.

Zogle Hoo

We took a trip to Zogle Hoo I mean Hogle Zoo on Friday. I can't believe all of the changes that have taken place since we last visited! There is a lot of construction going on. They are making a lot of new cages, several places to eat, and even a South entrance! Friday was the perfect day. It wasn't very cold, and we had the whole zoo to ourselves!
I was nervous taking the kids by myself, but we were totally fine. It's so much easier when there isn't a crowd.

Peacocks

Elephants

BYU cougars

and rhinoceros's

Alyssa loved these little guys. I can't remember what they're called.

Monkeys

Birds and turtles

tigers

Here is one of the buildings under construction at the South entrance.

An adult male gorilla.

An adult female gorilla.

An infant gorilla.

Another adult female gorilla. -Sorry Bro.
And a juvenile gorilla.

A bunch of crazy monkeys! :)

After we walked the zoo, we decided to stop at the playground.

I think the teeter totter was the favorite toy.

Bree got her feet wet on the spider webb. She wasn't very happy about it.

Alyssa loved this bridge. She kept telling me "Come on Mom, it's scaywee."

I couldn't keep Brody from eating the snow. -I hope he doesn't get sick.

I think Bree kind of liked it on top of that crocodile. :)

The Super Bowl Plus More Birthdays

Sunday was awesome! After church, the Jacobson's came over and watched the Super Bowl with us.

We had soooo much food. It felt like Thanksgiving all over again. :)
The Giants beat the Patriots 21-17.

After the Super Bowl, Alyssa and I took a gift over to my brother and nephew. Ryan is 34 and Parker is 5! Holy Moly. Where does the time go?

Not A Good Day

There was a boutique in S. Jordan on Saturday. I thought it would be fun to get away with just the girls, so we did. We made it to the boutique...well almost. My mother-in-law lost her balance on the side walk just outside the building and fell. She got a goose bump on the left side of her head, scraped the top of her nose, scratched the lenses of her glasses, bruised her left hand, and scraped her right knee. I took this picture of her yesterday. The swelling on her for head has gone down, but now she has a black eye. I feel terrible. Everyone keeps saying things like, "At least she didn't break a leg, hip, or arm." I agree, I just wish the whole thing didn't happen in the first place.

LouJean's 78th Birthday!

Friday was my mother-in-laws birthday. She had a busy day! She went to the temple in the morning with her daughter, Deanna. For lunch she went to Sizzler with her husband, Kent. Then for dinner, our family bought her some KFC! After dinner we had cake and ice cream. I wish I would've brought my camera. I took some pics with my phone, but they never turn out as well.
