What a crazy night! We left for the SLC airport yesterday a little after 8 pm. Our flight was supposed to leave @ 11:18 pm. Because it was an international flight, we needed to be there a couple hours early.
The East coast is having some bad weather. Because of that our flight was delayed. The delay would cause us to miss the connecting flight from Boston to Cancun. Leslie and Kristie began looking into other airlines for different options. Although not ideal, we decided to stick with Jetblue. There would be another flight @ 3:00 am to Boston and another connecting flight to Cancun. We would loose about 9 hours. 😕
We waited for our next flight. When 3:00 am finally came, we got some more upsetting news. Our plane was having mechanical issues. The flight was canceled.
We all began to panic. Kristie and Leslie came up with a plan. There were 5 tickets on Southwest available to go to Cancun. A little pricey, ($600) but we all had companion passes, ($300 each). We bought all 5. Leslie was standby in case someone didn't show. Kristie and Seann went on a Frontier flight. It was sold out also, but they were standby. It's nothing short of a miracle, but we all made it onto our flights!
Kristie and Seann arrived a couple hours before us. They were able to get us a taxi. Hotel Solaris is gorgeous! I can't believe the view from our room. It really is paradise. 🌴🌊🥥
Our buffet has the yummiest and prettiest food. Look at these desserts! My favorite so far is their coconut icecream.
