FHE Craft Night

Last night for family home evening, we decided to have a "Craft Night." I bought some ceramic banks at the dollar store a couple weeks ago that the kids were able to paint, and they loved it. While the kids painted, Aaron and I watched the Jazz game. It was a fun evening at home with the fam. My cute little baby is getting so big. She can sit up by herself for a short while. Here she is on the counter.

I attempted to make pizza. -It was okay, but the crust was a little soggy.

Buns Of Steel

One of my New Year's resolutions is to exercise more. I've found that it's more difficult to exercise in the winter time, simply because I hate going out in the cold and I don't own a gym pass. I did purchase some exercise videos last summer and am now putting them to good use.Every day Andrew and Abby ask me to do exercises with them. Thanks to Mari Winsor, Leslie Sansone, and Tamilee Webb we just might get in shape.

Princess Parade

Yesterday evening, my daughter Abby informed me that she and her sister (Bree) were having a Princess Parade. For the parade, Abby and Bree marched around the kitchen in different princess outfits to Abby's vocals. Every time they changed their outfits, Abby told me to close my eyes til they were in place.I wish I would've taken more pictures. Abby and Bree dressed up in several outfits. We put Alyssa in her walker and she followed the girls around.

Patricia Lynn Geertsen

Patricia was in my ward in American Fork. She was a beautiful lady both inside and out. When Aaron and I were first married, she helped us with our calls in the nursery. -Then later on I got to teach her daughter in Primary. She helped us recognize that Brody had autism. She will be missed.

Patricia Lynn Geertsen, 51, passed away 5 Jan 2010 at her home in American Fork, UT following a two-year battle with metastatic breast cancer. This precious butterfly peacefully fluttered to her eternal home in her sleep.

Patty was born to David Van Gend and Sara Suzanna Duvaloois on 20 Apr 1958 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the third of four children.

She lived in various locations throughout the United States and the far east. She graduated from high school in Taiwan to where she later returned to serve a mission for the LDS church.

Patty pursued careers in travel & tourism and dental assisting before deciding to become a Speech-Language Pathologist. She graduated from BYU in 1986 with a Master of Communicative Disorders degree. Patty dearly loved the children with whom she worked and was employed in the field for a number of years by the Granite school district and in Colorado prior to becoming a full-time mother. She was also recently employed for a few years at Lehi Junior High.

Patty was sealed to Jay Geertsen in the Salt Lake Temple on 25 Nov 1988.

As a member of the LDS church, Patty served in various callings but enjoyed serving as a Visiting Teacher the most.

Patty’s interests included family history, gardening, travel, camping, and finding excuses to be outdoors.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Margie. She is survived by her husband, Jay; her daughters, Rochelle and Becca; her parents, David and Sue Van Gend; her brother, David Van Gend (Cindy); her sister, Shirley Daniels (Ray); her grandma, Omi; and numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins. All of us shall miss her dearly.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, 9 Jan 2010 at 11:00am at the American Fork Utah West Stake Center, 688 W. 500 North, American Fork, UT. A visitation will be held at the stake center Friday night from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, and also prior to the funeral services on Saturday from 9:30am – 10:45am.

Interment will be in the American Fork Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the LDS church Perpetual Education fund.

Bunch Of Randomness

Today Abby found some bubbles. She blew them in our back yard and entertained our dog Snickers. Some of the pictures I took were taken behind glass, so I apologize because they're a little blurry.

I think Bree wore herself out over Christmas break. Yesterday at about 1:00 pm, she got her pillow and her "Gagi," and fell asleep on the couch.

Brody found our camera and was trying to work it like Andrew's DS. He took about 20 pictures of the carpet, the bed spread, the ceiling, etc. I took the camera away, and was able to get these cute pics.

I took these pictures of Alyssa yesterday. She's such a smiley baby.

Daddy's Little Girl!

Alyssa is getting so big ..she thinks. I took these pictures of her and Aaron the other night. Alyssa kept reaching for Aaron's chips and his remote to the tv.

She couldn't understand why he wouldn't give them to her.

Girl's Night Out

On Wednesday December 30th, I had a wonderful evening with friends and family. My dear friend Natalie is pregnant with her 5th baby. Her sisters and mom(Shelley, Lindsay, and Shar) wanted to give her a little shower/party before her baby arrived, so they invited me and several friends to dinner at the Olive Garden. All together, there was me, Sharlene, Lindsay, Ashley, Lorian, Katie, Shelley, Emily, and of course Natalie. It was so nice visiting with everyone. The last time I had a girl's night out was right before Alyssa was born (Over 6 months ago), so this was a "Much needed" event.
