It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vince Edward Slater, who left us peacefully on July 24, 2026, at the age of 55. Born on February 7, 1971, in American Fork, Utah, to Jack Marvin Slater and Lydia Sue Black Slater. Vince was a beloved soul who brought joy and light into the lives of everyone who crossed his path.

Vince certainly excelled in his own unique and remarkable way. He had a profound love for riding horses, earning accolades through the Utah State Developmental Center system, where his spirit and determination were evident. Whether riding through sunlit pastures or swimming in cool pools, Vince savored the simple pleasures life had to offer. His heart lit up at the sight of colorful balloons and twinkling Christmas lights, embodying the joy of the season year-round.

Throughout his life, Vince faced health challenges that brought him into hospitals multiple times over the past year. Yet, his resilience and fighting spirit shone through every struggle. He hung on through it all with an unwavering heart, showcasing a tenacity that inspired those around him.

Vince is survived by his devoted father, Marvin Slater, his siblings Brad (Kim) Slater, Rod (Jenny) Slater, Julie (Ryan) Shipp, Ryan (Candace) Slater, Katherine Slater and Travis (Courtney) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Sue. Though Vince never had the opportunity to know his mother during his lifetime, we find solace in knowing that they are now reunited, together at last, nurturing a bond that transcends our earthly existence.

Family and friends are invited to come together to honor Vince's life during the upcoming ceremonies. A public viewing will be held at the USDC Chapel, 895 N 900 E, American Fork, Utah on August 1, 2026, at 12:00-1:45 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. These gatherings will provide a chance for all who loved him to share memories, celebrate his spirit, and support one another during this time of loss.

Vince Edward Slater may have been a gentle fighter, but his legacy of love, joy, and resilience will continue to inspire us all. Dear Vince; you will be profoundly missed but forever remembered.
