My dad was diagnosed with optic neuritis earlier this week. I knew "itis" meant inflammation, but here is the official definition. Optic Neuritis is an inflammation of the optic nerve, the bundle of nerve fibers that transmits visual information from your eye to your brain. Pain and temporary vision loss are common symptoms of optic neuritis.
His left eye has been bothering him for several weeks. Tomorrow morning he's having an MRI done at American Fork Hospital. I hope that everything will be okay.
