Sara Bingham King, 34, died on June 10, 2013 in San Francisco, California after a long battle with cancer. She is best remembered for her courage, energy, enthusiasm, kindness, spunk, and great love of life and people.
Sara was born on July 31, 1978 in Provo, Utah to Finch M. Bingham and RaChel Anderson Bingham and raised in American Fork, Utah. She attended American Fork High School, where her gregarious and inclusive nature led her to develop numerous close friendships.After high school, she attended college in Utah before graduating from San Francisco State University with a degree in Child and Adolescent Development.
While working at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, Sara met Jamie King. They quickly fell in love and were married in the Salt Lake Temple on Friday, August 13, 1999, makingFriday the 13tha special day for the couple.Together, they lived in Provo and American Fork, Utah and Daly City and San Bruno, California. They have three children, Jacob (9), Parker (6), and Emma (3).
Sara was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and actively participated in her congregation wherever she lived. Even during her illness, she continued her volunteer work leading the Primary organization (children's ministry). She drew great strength from the love and simple concern the children had for her.
Sara touched those who were fortunate enough to have known her. She was often the friend people would call either to celebrate or to cry with. As Sara found herself in need, many people anxiously provided assistance in a variety of ways.Their expressions of love and acts of service are sincerely appreciated by Sara and her family.
Sara is survived by her husband; their three children; parents, and siblings, LeAnne (Hansen), Cynthia (Parsons), Lauren (Gardner), Devin, and Douglas. A funeral service was held on June 14 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in San Bruno, California.
A viewing will be held on Monday, June 17, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Warenski Funeral Home, 1776 North 900 East in American Fork, Utah. Following a brief graveside service on Tuesday, June 18 at 11:00 a.m., Sara will be laid to rest in the American Fork City cemetery.
