Bon Voyage!

Brooklyn's Broken Arm

 From Adrienne:

So Brookie broke her arm today. 🥲She slipped practicing her turns and broke her humerus in half. I'm sure you will all need to come to the comp early tomorrow to re work the dances. She feels SO bad that she's let everyone down. I'll let you all know what Cecilee wants to do but wanted to give you all a heads up.

Surgery went well. It was a bigger break up her bone then he thought so she has a pretty big incision. He said they ended up using an adult sized metal plate instead of a smaller one like he was initially planning because her bones are so long. It didn’t get into her growth plate and they didn’t need to attach anything to her growth plate so she shouldn’t have any problems. Her nerve seemed fine but they will check it in the post op for any problems or damage. She will be in a sling for 2 weeks and then out after that. She will have check ups every two weeks and He feels like he will release her to all normal activity by the 8 week checkup. Thanks for all your love, support and prayers. Love you all so much.

One of the hospital workers came into the hospital last night and gave her a full-size blanket that Minky Couture donated. I think that was the first time I saw her face light up through the whole ordeal.

Brooklyn is home. She was able to get up for a minute and walk around (slowly) this morning and hunt for Easter eggs. We had some bacon and eggs in Costco croissants and that about wore her out. So she laying back down now to relax.
