A Trip To The Podiatrist

 

I took Kent to the see a podiatrist today.  They trimmed his toenails nice and short.  He's ready for a pedicure!  😉

 We finally took around our neighbor gifts.  This year it was freeze dried fruit and candy.

A Not So Happy Birthday

 

Kent turned 89 on Sunday!  We were excited to celebrate, but unfortunately we didn't get the chance.  While we were gone to a baby blessing, Kent tried to move Aaron's truck.  He fell getting out and landed on his L hip.  He was alone and in pain, but some how he was able to get in the house and call for help.  Kenna arrived first.  We followed about 5 min after her.  Aaron did some tests.  He was pretty certain Kent had fractured his hip.  We loaded him in the car and took him to the ER.  

The ER was very busy.  It took about an hour before they had a room available.  They took Kent to get x-rays.   Sure enough, they found a fracture!  They did more tests.   An EKG and a CT scan.  Finally they admitted him onto the surgical floor.  We were told he would have surgery the next day, but never had the opportunity to speak with the surgeon until about 9 pm.  We got some pretty great news.  Yes the hip is fractured, but surgery wasn't necessary.   

Kent stayed in the hospital for 2 nights.  He's home now.  He'll be getting home health for a few weeks!
