What a fun weekend! I hate seeing it come to an end. Friday night Aaron took our kiddos and our trailer to Timpanooke campground. I worked a grave Friday night, but met up with everyone Saturday afternoon. Aaron's sisters and their families, (Ruthann, Deanna, and LouAnn) camped up there as well.
This moose walked through camp Friday and Saturday evening. He was huge!
So beautiful up there!
Shawn and Denell joined us Saturday evening
We had scones, fried licorice, fried cheetos, fried oreos, and Matt's favorite, (fried marshmallows).
BB guns and pop cans
Bree and Kaz spent a lot of their time perfecting their art skills
Poor Alyssa bruised her toe getting out of the hammock.
We spent a lot of time chatting around the fire
Aaron and I made breakfast Sunday morning. Deep fried french toast, bacon, sausage, and hash brown patties.
Aaron, Abby, Brody and I went for a drive to the front side of Timp. My phone had a connection, so I sent an email to Andrew letting him know that we were camping and to try to call us later in the afternoon on Monday if possible.
It was a bumpy drive, but it was worth it.
More exploring
We had an amazing dinner Sunday night. Kenna and Ed joined us. We had a roast with mashed potatoes and gravy, corn on the cob, carrots, zucchini, yellow squash, and a salad. Nummy!
Monday morning we prepared to leave. As we were packing up, one of the camp hosts notified us that we were trapped. 😕 Apparently, there were a lot of people who decided to hike Timp. The parking lot was full, so people began parking on both sides of the road @ the entrance to our camp. There was no way a trailer would fit through.
We spent the morning playing games.
We went for a walk and found our moose and his son?
We finally made it home around 2:30 pm. Andrew tried to call us around 1. He said he only had an hour to talk. I really wished he'd call back, but he never did. He didn't even send a mass email. 🤔 The only thing he sent were these pictures.
I hope he's ok. I was really looking forward to his call. I'm guessing it will be another week before we hear from him.
