Jeanne Davis Durrant, 85, passed away on March 18, 2016, in Provo,
Utah. She was born in Provo, Utah on August 22, 1930. Jeanne was the oldest of three children born to LeRoy Malan Davis and Jennie
Mae Bennett and grew up in Provo. Jeanne married Paul E. Durrant, of American Fork, Utah. They had one son, Walter Roy Durrant, and lived in American Fork. Walter was the single greatest joy in her life.
She attended BYU and received her teaching certificate in 1958 and taught school for 33 years in the Alpine School District. While teaching, she became an EMT in 1984 for American Fork City Ambulance.
She loved learning and respected education. For many years Jeanne would receive letters from former students thanking her for the lessons she taught them, mostly of hard work and applying themselves. After retiring from teaching she went to college to become an RN where she worked at Heritage Nursing Center and Utah State Hospital.
Jeanne had many hobbies and even more friends in this life. She loved to ride her bicycle, which she rode as far as UVU from her home while attending nursing school. She loved to garden and take care of her yard. For years she could be seen outside tending to her many beautiful flowers and fruit trees. Jeanne raised honey bees and would sell and give her neighbors jars of honey each year. She enjoyed going to the Utah Symphony and cherished those evenings spent with her family and friends. Jeanne loved to travel, was an avid reader, and served several LDS missions, her first was in 1951. Most of all, Jeanne loved her pets.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, one brother; LeRoy Alan Davis, sister-in-law Christa (LeRoy) Davis, a nephew Michael (LeRoy) Davis and Ryan Hansen a grand nephew. She is survived by one brother, Shirl B. Davis; 4 nieces, 2 nephews, and many grand nieces and nephews.
